Needless Travels

Travels feel nicer when they're not neccessary

Hotel review: Wyndham Stuttgart Airport Messe Hotel (28 May 2024)

Booked room: Business Double
Allocated room: 570
I visited as a Wyndham Rewards Platinum Member. No room upgrade was available, since Business is already the best room type in this hotel.

Hotel / public areas

The location is excellent for the Stuttgart Airport (STR) and the Stuttgart Exhibition Center (Messe). Two minutes walk to the airport entrance, three minutes walk to the Airport Regional Train Station (S-Bahn), and one minute walk to the Airport Metro Station (U-Bahn). Stuttgart city center (Main train station and Schlossplatz) is a 25-35 minutes direct ride on either the S- or the U-Bahn (no train changes needed).

The hotel offers a lobby bar and a premium German/European restaurant (“Franke”) on site (not visited).
The main disappointment is the hotel “fitness center”: It is a small underground room with old fitness equipment that didn’t work (neither the treadmill nor the bike) during a recent previous visit, so I didn’t bother visiting at all this time.

Bedroom & workplace

Large room, with a double bed, desk with TV, and a “mini-living room” area (sofa and lounge chair).

Room equipment: Safe, scale, iron and ironing board, stocked mini fridge and snacks, water boiler for tea/coffee.

Bathroom & amenities

Nice modern bathroom and premium Dutch “Rituals…” amenities.

Views

There’s not much to see from the windows. Most rooms offer views of the Messe or Bosch parking building. Contrary to the other two nearby Mövenpick hotels, the Wyndham does not seem to offer views of the airport.
