Hotel review: Pullman Hotel Stuttgart Fontana – Junior Suite (12 January 2025)
January 12, 2025

Booked room: Premium Deluxe with Living Room
Allocated room: 1214
I visited as an Accor ALL Gold Member and was granted an upgrade to the higher room category, a Junior Suite on the 12th (top) floor.
Hotel introduction and location
The Pullman is rated 4.5 stars and is one of Accor’s three premium-segment hotels in Stuttgart (the other two being the two Mövenpicks at the airport and fair). The building itself is rather old but this shows in a few places only (mainly the elevators –every time I visit, I wonder why they haven’t refreshed this old design yet!). For the most part, the hotel’s public spaces and rooms are fully renovated and show no signs of age (although a rather conservative styling with grey and earth colors has been chosen).
The hotel is located in Stuttgart’s Vaihingen suburb, outside the city center, and is very well connected with public transport: The Vaihingen main station is literally outside the door, offering both U-Bahn (metro) and S-Bahn (regional train) connections to the city center and to the airport (both around 20 minutes). Vaihingen’s main shopping street, with a mini-mall and many restaurants and pubs, is just a 7-8 minute walk from the hotel.
My local tips: HIAMI (a tiny, excellent sushi bar), King’s Palace (a large, pompous Chinese restaurant with an extensive regional Chinese menu and huge portions), Poushe (a cozy coffee shop from Switzerland, famous for its strudels).

Hotel dining
The hotel offers a large lobby bar for drinks plus a few comfort dishes (burgers, club sandwiches, Flammkuchen etc.), and the Italian restaurant “Cantinetta Popolare”, which opened its doors for the first time during my stay (replacing the previous “Blend” German/European restaurant concept in the same space).

Hotel Spa
Probably the hotel’s major attraction is its “Fit And Spa” facility, occupying a whole floor. There is a large indoor heated swimming pool (one of the very few hotel pools in Stuttgart), an outdoor Scandinavian sauna, a saunarium, a steam bath, a whirlpool, and feet baths –all with complimentary access for hotel guests. At a cost, you can book an appointment for one of the face or body treatments offered using Babor premium German care products.
If you plan to stay long hours inside your hotel in Stuttgart, this Pullman (along with the pricier Le Méridien) should be at the top of your list.

Bedroom, living room & workplace
As expected, the suite was quite spacious, featuring a bedroom with a double bed and TV, a living room with a sofa and another TV, a working desk, and a balcony with two chairs and a table.
Room equipment: Two large TVs (with Chromecast wireless projection), mini-fridge (stocked with drinks and snacks), Nespresso machine with three different capsule types (espresso, lungo, decaffeinato) water boiler for tea/coffee, safe, hairdryer, bathrobes and slippers.

Bathroom & amenities
A large, modern bathroom with dual basins and both a bathtub and a shower cabin.
Premium quality American amenities by C.O. Bigelow.

Balcony & views
The 12th-floor suite balcony offered plenty of views (but nothing really interesting).
